Position Title: Project Manager

- Pembroke, NH or Portland, ME or Williston, VT
- Monday - Friday
- Frequent Area travel (Up to 50% of the time) to the 17 locations this role supports

The Area Project Manager works independently throughout Area locations and in conjunction with the Area Vice President (AVP), Area Branch Operations Coordinator (ABOC), District Managers (DM's), and branch staff to ensure the timely and cost effective completion of assigned projects. This position is accountable for results related to on time and on budget completion of projects including scheduling, cost control, and progress monitoring for goal achievement. The Area Project Manager works with the AVP, ABOC, and DM's to prepare comprehensive action plans to complete projects related to efficiencies, safety initiatives, branch improvement initiatives, AOS / compliance elements, and other projects as assigned. The role also includes assisting Area branches in providing coverage for vacation time, sick time, and relief in the general workload as determined by the AVP and ABOC.
  • Responsible for project management involving efficiencies, retail improvement, inventory, compliance, and training.

  • Establishes, monitors, and reports metrics for all project plan milestones as well as budget figures and compliance issues or findings to leadership.

  • Prepares branch operations and project status reports such as cost tracking.

  • Maintains proper reconciliation of paperwork/electronic files related to all projects.

  • Maintains all data project requests and supporting documentation in a timely manner and within established quality metrics.

  • Escalates problems to the necessary leader or project owner.

  • Participates in branch safety meetings in an attempt to reduce accident frequency ratios.

  • Supports and participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental programs and objectives established by the business entity.

  • Bachelors of Business Administration, Science or related degree preferred. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior project coordination and/or management oversight related experience required, preferably in the industrial gas business.

  • Strong working knowledge of project management tools.

  • Strong working knowledge of branch operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft MS Office and Google platform products.

  • SAP knowledge / experience.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to develop systems to keep projects organized.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Position requires the ability to use computer, telephone and operate a motor vehicle.

  • Ability to routinely lift & move between 10-30 pounds up to 10 feet.

  • Job requires reliable transportation, current driver's license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.

  • Job requires visitation of to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
