Optum Insight is seeking a service-oriented Senior Analyst, Supply Chain to facilitate the expansion of strategic insights and adoption of data-driven decision making to support supply chain operations within client health systems. Acting as an advisor and interface between the analytics organization and key client business stakeholders, this individual plays a critical role in supporting the client's strategic and operational supply chain initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute operational and strategic client plans that addresses the client's supply chain needs
  • Lead efforts to develop and enhance analytics that drive insights related to supply expense management, surgical supply optimization, vendor negotiation, and operational efficiency
  • Strategize with supply chain operations teams to streamline operational processes through better utilization of core supply chain systems and development of supplemental analytics
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to drive and support new strategic initiatives for client supply chain systems
  • Manage a portfolio of client strategic and operational dashboards, while developing effective documentation processes to build knowledge management and standardization
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the best practices of health system supply chain initiatives and analytics to support those initiatives
  • Create standardized models and templates to be leveraged across multiple client teams and segments of the health system
  • Develop and manage project timelines including consistent communication with key stakeholders
  • Oversee and guide lower-level team member's workload and progression
  • Partner with other analytic team members to create solutions for the customers that effectively support all known requirements and answer the relevant questions about performance and opportunities for strategic optimization
  • Partner with other subject matter domain leaders to infuse insights into the decision-making process for clinical, operational, financial, growth, and other health system analytics focus areas

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of health care experience with knowledge and background in health system finance, supply chain, consulting, or operations
  • 3+ years of health system supply chain analytics experience (i.e., creating and maintaining analytic models or developing ad hoc analyses with a focus on supply chain optimization)
  • 2+ years of experience managing a portfolio of projects or initiatives with minimal guidance
  • 2+ years of experience with Infor Cloudsuite FSM/Lawson v10 enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems with deep knowledge of Infor database business class structure
  • 2+ years of experience with Business Intelligence tools Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Deep understanding of procure-to-pay cycle
  • Demonstrated strength of analytics competency using, Excel, SQL, R, or another comparable analytical tool

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in other ERP applications like SAP, Peoplesoft, Workday
  • Experience with clinical workflows, including data sources from EHRs such as Epic or Cerner
  • Experience guiding and developing junior team members
  • Experience guiding cross-functional efforts and interacting with leadership within a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience working in Agile environments, employing SCRUM, Lean, and Kanban methodologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
