The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Nursing (CON) is seeking well-qualified candidates for a Simulation Operations Specialist II position. The Simulation Operations Specialist II (Lead) will increase efficiency among the STIM (Simulation, Technology, Innovation, and Modeling) Center staff, to effectively conduct the increased number of simulations for pre-licensure nursing clinical requirements, graduate evaluation, research, and continuing education events. This position will execute simulation education experiences and provide advanced technical support for all experiential and immersive learning operations including high-fidelity manikins (software and hardware), advanced practice simulators and associated equipment, task trainers, immersive technology (AR/VR) equipment, and related multimedia equipment.

Responsibilities:

Serve as senior/lead operations team member for simulation center technology and other simulation-related educational equipment, including vetting, acquisition process, implementation, operation, and maintenance of computerized simulators and manikins, audio/video equipment, diagnostic and other equipment acquired for simulation and skills training purposes.

Collaboration in the management of Inventory and Learner Performance/Data administration processes:

  • Interact directly with simulation center leadership with data collection and reporting of data as requested.

  • Contribute to quality improvement processes for accreditation and endorsement purposes.

  • Support and delegate tasks related to the management of inventory and learning management reporting.

Technical support:

  • First-tier technical support guide for simulation hardware and software issues.

  • Scheduling and escalating tasks to maximize equipment and space utilization for main and regional campuses (UCF Daytona Connect Campus and UCF Cocoa Campus).

  • Guide various aspects of training and development for new operations specialists/staff relative to learning simulation center process for the use of simulation technology and implementing simulation activities.

  • Support simulation education faculty personnel, facilitators, and learners related to simulation experiences and orientation of simulation-related technologies.

Simulation center management/scheduling:

  • Assist the CON clinical and simulation center leadership with scheduling and logistical processes.

  • Strategize with the simulation center team during the organization of marketing events, conference-related events, etc.

  • Weekend and evening work assignments.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or a health-related field.

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist [CHSOS] certification or previous experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge and operations of medical simulation technologies, learning management systems & devices (such as Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE, CANVAS, Learning Space, AV systems).

  • IT support experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other databases and technology.

  • Experience with immersive technologies (Virtual, augmented, and mixed realities).

  • Valid government-issued driver's license.
