The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at New York Institute of Technology is seeking a full-time postdoctoral fellow to support faculty members in incorporating inclusive design into their teaching. This individual will work directly with faculty members individually and in groups, in multiple formats.

Responsibilities
    Organize and facilitate course design institutes for interdisciplinary groups of faculty members, with an emphasis on inclusive teaching.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary Faculty Learning Communities and Communities of Practice focused on such aspects of teaching and learning as: creating and assessing learning objectives aligned with instructional methods and assessments of student learning, inclusive teaching and assignment design, assessment of student learning, experiential education, and other topics of interest to the faculty.
  • Perform teaching observations and review learning activities.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs offering opportunities for faculty to engage in reflection on and conversation about teaching and learning principles and practices.
  • Support adjunct faculty who teach large multi-section courses.
  • Engage faculty around the theme of inclusive teaching strategies by conducting workshops, consultations, and department retreats.
Qualifications

  • Master's degree in an academic discipline (PhD preferred).
  • At least three years of experience designing and facilitating professional development opportunities related to pedagogy for higher education faculty.
  • Postsecondary teaching or professional experience working effectively with a diverse student and faculty population.
  • Strong consultation, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating Course Design Institutes, Faculty Learning Communities, or similar initiatives preferred.

This position is grant funded. Grant funding is anticipated through September 30, 2028. Continued employment is contingent upon availability and continuation of grant funding, which is subject to annual renewal.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
