Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for participating in the monthly financial close process and ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financial statements for multicurrency global operations. This includes the accounting, reporting, and analysis of consolidated accounts. In addition, this position will participate and assist in the annual consolidated financial audit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepares and records month end closing entries for various entities within the organization according to month end schedules.
  • Reconcile accounts and book related elimination and adjustment entries for the consolidated financials.
  • Reviews and reconciles multi-currency fixed asset roll-forward schedules at the consolidated level.
  • Reviews trial balances for parent company and various subsidiaries.
  • Utilizes the financial reporting system to validate data integrity and accuracy, provide reporting and distribution of consolidated reports, including trail balances and account analyses for management.
  • Reconciles intercompany balances, work with foreign subsidiaries, and other functional departments to resolve open issues.
  • Prepares necessary schedules and documentation during the interim and annual audits.
  • Assists on various projects throughout the year and performs ad hoc reporting, as needed.

GUIDELINES (ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS):
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (including using pivots and VLOOKUP function to work with and analyze data)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, detail oriented, and self-motivated team-player, able to multi-task and work with other staff and departments to ensure deadlines are met
  • Global consolidation, elimination and foreign currency experience a plus
  • JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience a plus
  • CPA preferred

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience inPublic Accounting/private industry, preferably in manufacturing environment with global operations
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and month end close process

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
