We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Dover, NH team. You will be responsible for learning and understanding Pentair's unique equipment and processes. Taking on individual improvement projects that support our future state equipment roadmap. Provides technical support for all manufacturing processes, identifying and solving equipment/resource constraints, identifying ergonomic opportunities, and process improvements in operations. The ME will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) on projects to ensure timely completion and proper function of all improvement projects. Will support the plant through cost reductions, ergonomic manufacturing programs, and participation in Kaizen events. Provide production line layout design to support cellular manufacturing and work with Operations to ensure process objectives are met utilizing Lean, Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) process guided by Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash (SQDCC), and teamwork. You will:

  • Researching, sourcing, and overseeing procurement and installation details of new equipment supporting future state development.
  • Responsible for manufacturing process and process improvements in the Dover facility. Own the flow, standard work, and equipment for the production processes.
  • Support production by designing and providing new fixturing, tooling, and equipment, conducting time studies, and troubleshooting quality and process issues.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions, support job safety analyses (JSAs), and be involved in PFMEA / control plans.
  • Participate and drive continuous improvement activities and quality improvement initiatives relating to equipment and processes. Utilize Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Provide guidance to Production Operators, Production Leads, Supervisors, and Maintenance with respect to processes and equipment.
  • Liaison between engineering, quality, and manufacturing on new equipment, products, and product changes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing, supporting both assembly/production processes and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with process improvements, scrap reduction initiatives, and equipment/tooling design.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems a plus.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Previous experience with PLCs, Robots, and automation preferred (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi).
  • Experience and/or exposure to quality methodologies and equipment. Cognex and Keyence Vision Systems are a plus.
  • Resourceful, creative team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.
