Cloud Architect

Overview:

Softtek Government Solutions, is seeking a Cloud Architect to support our government client. The Cloud Architect will have overall responsibility over the engineering task and the creation and management of cloud environments in support of our government client. The Cloud Architect will provide and execute strategies for DevOpsSec pipeline adoption, development, and implementation. The Cloud Architect will provide solutions to enhance performance monitoring and implement standards of operating procedures (SOPs) for conguration management items in the cloud (including user access, creation and retirement of servers.), billing / usage of cloud resources, and migration between cloud environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience designing logical and network diagrams.
  • Experience with migration of applications from AWS Commercial Cloud to FedRamp Approved Gov Cloud.
  • Experience forecasting cloud costs and implementing plans to monitor and reduce costs and usage of cloud resources.
  • Experience applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity.
  • Experience with software design and development, systems operations / management; database architecture, storage and IT security.
  • Experience with DevOpsSec pipeline tools including conguration management, requirements (e.g. JIRA), automated testing, automated deployments, blue green deployments, and branching strategy and implementation.
  • Procient in network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and rewall policies.
  • Experience designing solutions compliant with the Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards and Security Requirements.
  • Experience with Message Services, such as development of Apache ActiveMQ services, MuleSoft and/or Apache Camel.
  • Experience with microservices / container architectures (e.g. Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes), orchestration and automation.
  • Proven ability to develop root cause analysis, problem identication and resolution, and roadmap for problems within system design and implementation of existing and new systems.
  • Technical prociency in optimizing system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis.
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, such as (but not limited to) Data Dog, AppDynamics and/or NewRelic.
  • Experience with designing and implementing Cloud-based hosting solutions, as well as Cloud-based backup and recovery, including failover zones.
  • Familiar with best-practices in billing and accounting with AWS to minimize oversubscription of services.
  • Experience in database management and administration (Mongo DB and Oracle).

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required Education:

  • Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • AWS Certied Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certied DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Technical prociency designing and implementing Cloud-based AWS solutions.
  • Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business writing ability

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government ocials
