Job Description

General Summary

Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for data entry and reconciliation of daily transportation transactions and certified payroll set up, while ensuring alignment with Graniterock's Family Vision, Core Purpose, Core Values, Strategic priorities, and business objectives.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote Graniterock safety initiatives to ensure "Safety before All Else."
  2. Coordinates with customer service/sales, dispatch, and accounting, teams to ensure the process is executed accurately, reliably and timely; verify order, prices, tonnage, and all other details on all tickets.
  3. Review and reconcile daily XBE transactions to daily sales, including hourly, COD and outside materials purchases, and daily XBE outside material transactions to daily freighted sales to ensure accurate billing.
  4. Collect Certified Payroll Requirements for Haulers to process accurate prevailing wage reports and recordkeeping.
  5. Coordinate and support the logistics team by coding and reviewing hourly truck tags to ensure billing objectives are met.
  6. Obtain and enter customer credit card information into billing system to ensure pre-authorizations on cash customers.
  7. Review prebilling transactions for accurate invoicing to customers, address sub-hauler billing inquiries.
  8. Identify and track projects with hourly trucking minimums for accurate billing.
  9. Assist in tracking and reporting backlog for Logistics Division.
  10. Process daily billing of shipments by rail. Work with Union Pacific and Graniterock Branches on billing discrepancies and reconciliations.

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of some college level accounting courses preferred.
  • 2 years of relative experience.
  • Accounting experience that may include A/P, A/R and certified Payroll is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task; organized, detail-oriented; deadline driven with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to various software, JD Edwards experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Excellent safety awareness.
