Scope of Work:

As an Application Engineer, you will serve as a crucial link between our customers and our engineering and sales teams. You will provide technical expertise and support to customers, ensuring successful integration in electrical applications. This role may involve traveling to customer sites, providing hands-on assistance, and solving technical challenges.

Develop quotations per WPI packaging standards and industrial codes. Design generator and compressor packages. Interpret written inquiries and specifications. Responsibilities include drafting CAD drawings, bill of materials, and purchasing major components.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales team as the product expert during customer emails, calls, or visits. Analyze customer applications and recommend solutions to their control system challenges based on our group's product offering and core competencies.
  • Meet with customers and conduct site surveys of industrial automation control systems to gain an understanding of project opportunities. Gather information needed to work with project engineers/managers to develop solutions to address customer requirements.
  • Prepare system configuration drawings, commercial and technical proposals by studying system schematics, specifications, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Present technical/commercial proposals to customers. Follow-up with existing customers and foster new business relationships; supporting multiple locations as required.
  • Collaborate closely with automotive OEM customers to understand their requirements and challenges.
  • Select engine for compressor and generator applications.
  • Size volume bottles and scrubbers
  • Edit CAD drawings or create new drawings from sketches.
  • Update database pricing on buyout materials.
  • Develop quotation spreadsheets for generator and compressor bids.
  • Develop scope of supply with exceptions to engineering specifications
  • Run OEM compressor sizing programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of natural gas engines.
  • Experience with engine/generator controls.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD or equivalent software.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to complete GET school at Waukesha factory.
  • Ability to complete Compressor Design training at Ariel or Dresser Rand
  • Ability to complete ESM school at Waukesha Factory
  • Must maintain and build good client relations.
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, days, and weekends when necessary.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8m. to 5 p.m.
  • Weekend hours as necessary.
  • Office/indoor work
