As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Logistics Analyst. Within our North America Supply Chain department, this position would be responsible for providing analytical, audit, and project capabilities for logistics and transportation within the North America region and collaborate with our international teams to support other locations outside the US. This position can be located in San Diego, CA.

The Responsibilities
  • Analyze departmental reports and tools and combine industry information and direct feedback from managers/carriers to identify opportunities to increase service, velocity and cost savings while also ensuring defects and root causes are identified so that corrective actions can be implemented in a timely manner within the transportation network.

  • Serve as the primary miner, accumulator, and presenter of data to support projects assigned to the Supply Chain group including RFQs for transportation with suppliers working closely with Sourcing and Global Supply Chain (all regions).

  • Develop Carrier performance monitoring and reporting with dashboards developed to track performance. Assist in financial analysis of business drivers in monthly reviews, while also assisting to develop budgets and track actions to meet or beat budgets.

  • Demonstrates leadership for both tactical and strategic initiatives across all transportation modes and lanes.

  • Support assigned projects by mining, sorting, cleansing, and organizing data that presents the business case requested and provide insights and recommendations for key executive reviews.

  • Lead and drive action items, root cause analysis and improvements across multiple functional teams.

  • Employ the use of quality and lean thinking tools to identify and drive improvement opportunities.

The Individual
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Finance or Supply Chain.

  • Major/minoring in Logistics, or Supply Chain (preferred).

  • 4-5 years relevant experience in transportation analytics (preferred).

  • Experience in working with all modes of transportation, including small package, international freight, cold chain, and LTL/FTL (preferred).

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, financial acumen and organizational skills.

  • Advanced competency in database tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions, etc.), Access and PowerPoint.

  • Highly motivated, intellectual curiosity, strong leadership skills to drive actions and accountability across multiple functions teams and external partners.

  • Experience in working with global carrier/forwarder partners (preferred).

  • Adaptable to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to identify problems and implement proactive problem solving to help achieve goals.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills including experience in communicating upwards.

  • Experience working with SAP (preferred).

The Work Environment

Work environment is primarily an office setting and may on occasion visit distribution environment. Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet business needs.

This position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $67,000.00 - $114,000 annually. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
