PLACEMENT: Clerical staff, grade 7
MINIMUM PAY RATE:$17.61 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
One position is available, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Hours will be daytime and evenings; however, hours may vary semester to semester in accordance with the needs of the Morris Education Center. Must have access to transportation and be willing to work at other campuses when necessary. Strong customer service, communication, organization and problem-solving skills are important. Initiative and attention to detail are also key to the success of the individual in this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as receptionist and front-line information dispenser for the Morris Education Center and Grundy Workforce Services; receive and direct students, instructors and visitors to appropriate areas.
2. Work closely with staff to ensure that all building policies and procedures are clearly communicated to students, staff and instructors.
3. Assist in the development and distribution of promotional materials and class scheduling; maintain records and prepare reports; coordinate activities with appropriate college staff.
4. Communicate course schedule information and register students and process payments.
5. Assist instructors and patrons with audio/visual equipment, Internet access, and other technologies and equipment utilized to access information.
6. Edit Morris Education Center website.
7. Administer course evaluations for select sections each semester.
8. Serve students/faculty: answer questions, address concerns, handle problems, make referrals and provide directions, etc. to ensure student/faculty satisfaction in education center.
9. Open and close selective facilities as required; maintain cleanliness and general appearance of facilities.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. One (1) year of related experience.
3. Strong customer service and phone skills.
4. Working knowledge of personal computer and Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
5. Attentiveness to detail, organizational skills and initiative are extremely important, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and impartiality.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. Must become knowledgeable of college programs and services.
7. Strong verbal and written skills, and ability and willingness to work cooperatively with a diverse population.
8. Access to transportation and a willingness to work at other campuses when necessary.
9. Availability to work some evenings and weekends.
10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's degree or two (2) years of college.
2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
3. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
* Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
