We are seeking an Information System Security Officer with a Secret Clearance!

A week in the life of an Information System Security Officer:

  • Utilize Defense Health Administration's eMASS and the DoD Risk Management Framework to build a comprehensive ATO package to accredit a COTS application
  • Ability to keep the eMASS ATO package up to date with a Continuous Monitoring and update process
  • Ability to understand DoD and DHA policies and procedures and be able to write to system specific RMF documentation
  • Manage day to day Cybersecurity activities to provide input into systems, processes, and procedures
  • Oversee RMF processes and develop weekly and monthly reports for Continuous Monitoring and auditing
  • Attend meetings with Government customers and AMERICAN SYSTEMS staff as needed (mostly virtual, but may require face to face in the DC area)
  • Manage an IT systems Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plan, conducting yearly tabletop exercises
  • Daily interaction with Project Teams via phone, email, SharePoint, and MS Teams
  • Monitor system development and provide guidance on Cyber requirements and IAVM's
  • Provide input into enterprise and system security architecture analysis, acquisition, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities.
  • Participate in risk analysis, performance, reliability, and security impact analysis to determine the appropriate IA products, systems, and policies.
  • Write and maintain system POA&M package
Job Requirements
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification (ISC2 CISSP, ISACA CISM, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, Cyber Security, or management information systems
  • Minimum 5+ of years of experience in IT Operations
  • Ability to manage time and workload on while teleworking
  • Experience meeting and tracking Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Working knowledge of ITIL service delivery framework
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools
  • Excellent communication skills - speaking and writing
  • Proficiency with Cyber Security Tools such as ACAS, SPLUNK, eMASS
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Ability to learn and use MS SharePoint and MS Teams
  • Experience providing general technical support for both hardware and software
  • Ability to identify and use data to detect trends and adjust policies and practices to promote improvement
  • Excellent understanding of the Risk Management Framework for DoD
  • Conversant in Federal Government cybersecurity policy (DoDI 8500.01)Preferred Experience:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools
  • Experience working in Department of Defense Health IT is a plus

Preferred Experience:

  • ISC(2) CISSP Certification
  • Previous eMASS and DoD RMF ATO experience
  • Experience accrediting Atlassian products such as Jira Software, Confluence, Service Manager, and Jira plug-ins on the cloud for a DoD customer.
  • Experience supporting Military Health organizations, such DHA.
  • Amazon Web Services Certification

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - 120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
