Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for an Accounts Payable Supervisor. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing standard operating procedures, forms, and policies related to supplier invoices, processing payments, and other accounts payable activities. Responsible for the coordination of daily operations of the accounts payable department to ensure superior service commitment in the processing of vendor invoices through vendor payment. Instrumental in improving departmental efficiencies, delivering training to field locations, developing training documents for Accounts Payable team members.

  • Maintains an environment that is customer focused with a standard of excellence as it relates to timeliness, integrity, and overall work as it pertains to processing invoices and paying vendors.
  • Responsible for maintaining Regional Accounting training documents, including scheduling and executing necessary training.
  • Responsible for review of Accounts Payable audit journals to ensure invoice posting quality and accuracy for proper vendor payment.
  • Involved in all aspects of employee development and employment decisions, with support from department manager. Provides employee training (informal and formal), and employee progress reviews.
  • Resolves escalated or identified complex issues.
  • Maintains proper Segregation of Duties within the Accounts Payable process.
  • Reviews and reconciles accounts payable register to the general ledger in a timely fashion. Prepares journal entries as required.
  • Prepares weekly reports and input for AP process metrics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Requires previous accounts payable supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational process skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
