Primary Purpose of Position | This position will assist with the operational management of the Student and Community Farm as well as with the production of diversified crops. |

Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The mission of the Student and Community Farm is to serve as a conduit for education, research and extension by providing students and the community a platform dedicated to collective discovery, experiential learning, and sustainable food production. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design is one of four departments in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. The Department offers three Bachelor of Science degrees, each in Agriculture and Environmental Systems with concentration in Sustainable Land and Food Systems or Environmental Studies, in Biological Engineering, and in Landscape Architecture. The department also offers Masters and Doctoral degrees and gives students the academic background for analyzing and solving scientific and social complexities of agriculture and natural resource management. The Department's educational philosophy is to minimize prescriptive procedures and provide students with tools for applying scientific knowledge to practical problems. |
