Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Payroll Manager for our Finance/Accounting group in our Menlo Park, CA office. You will report to the Assistant Controller and will process the payroll for our U.S. based employees using ADP WorkForce Now. You will ensure that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

You will be responsible for
  • Supervising a team of two payroll accountants
  • Administering bi-weekly payroll and ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Preparing payroll journal entries including relevant accruals and reconcile payroll related accounts Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices Ensuring compliance with internal control policies
  • Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors Identifying and recommending updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures
  • Overseeing and assisting with the process for U.S. payroll for all employees, including validation of all inputs to employee payroll files
  • Assisting with preparing payroll journal entries for General Ledger and maintaining support for vacation, ESPP and other accrued payroll journal entries as appropriate, and preparing related account reconciliations
  • Maintaining compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls for payroll and stock administration areas and assisting with external audits by providing supporting records and documentation
  • Leading and/or assisting with ad-hoc projects as required
You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or related field preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of multi-state and international payroll experience for >500 employees
  • Experience with supervising payroll process for both salaried and hourly employed staff
  • Ability to act strategically and analytically with process and control discipline
  • Experience supporting the administration of stock incentive plans
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient with ADP WorkForce Now
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.

Salary Range
USD $150,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
