Additional Job Description:

This full-time clinical specialist position will staff in the emergency department at our main campus which is a level 1 trauma center. Weekday scheduling is half day shift (0600 - 1430) and half evening shift (1130 - 2000). This position works approximately every 9th weekend. Weekend shifts are 12 hours long and 3 comp days are provided when a weekend is worked. The duties of this position include order verification, responding to drug information questions, medication management, pharmacokinetic consultation, patient counseling, and coordination of operational functions with pharmacy technicians. This position is decentralized and has a dedicated computer and space in the emergency department. In addition, non-clinical expectations will include student and resident precepting, committee involvement, and research/quality improvement project participation.
