Join our winning team as aProcess Automation Lead. This role will be located at the Lake Jackson, TX Technical and Administration Center. In your role as a Process Automation Lead, you will work on the Odyssey Program which is an ongoing, multi-year program that will replace legacy process control systems with a modern DCS. The Process Automation Lead will be responsible for multiple migrations across Olin's chemicals manufacturing businesses, with focus on Gulf Coast manufacturing sites. The programming efforts for each project will be performed by a combination of system integrators, EPC partners, and Olin staff. The role will be the DCS and process control technical authority for their individual migration project. In addition, they will contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of the DCS Book of Conventions. The role will be responsible for QA/QC of the developed software.

Process Automation Lead Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the migration of process control application code from MOD5 to DeltaV or between other control systems from inception through plant startup.
  • Act as the DCS and process control technical authority for the migration team.
  • Develop and implement Safety Instrumented System code and ensure adherence to the DCS Book of Conventions
  • Work with project managers to provide engineering effort estimates for FEL.
  • Interface with the MES team to integrate the DCS with external applications.
  • Work with Manufacturing & Engineering business process owners to improve workflows and procedures.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of training documentation for application users.
Process Automation Lead Minimum Requirements:
  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering plus 5+ years related experience; OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent plus 15+ years of related programming experience
  • DCS programming experience required. For Olin internal applicants demonstrated programming aptitude will be considered in lieu of programming experience.
  • Experience with MOD5, Emerson DeltaV, or Siemens PCS 7 programming preferred; VBA, Typescript, or other programming languages preferred;
  • Experience with DCS migrations, Agile frameworks, and project management preferred.
  • Work experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and must possess a valid US driver's license.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $130,000 - 186,000. This salary is only an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
