About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a AWS Cloud Architect for our client in Washington DC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Software, Hardware, and Application Architects, and Solution Architects throughout the software development cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

    Collaborate with the business analyst and business leaders to understand the application data requirements.
  • Research and properly evaluate sources of information to support business and application data needs.
  • Prepare accurate database design and architecturemodels.
  • Oversee and guide the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Recommend solutions to support Enterprise Data Management Program.
  • Compare and analyze to identify patterns, relationships and problems impacting data within and across multiple applications.
  • Analyze legacy application data, understand business requirements, and develop future-state data architectures.
  • Participate in teams to evaluate new applications from a data perspective.
  • Create and maintain data standards.
  • Conduct data analysis to determine data availability and quality.
  • Build Data Dictionaries that document data in the domain. Assist with definition of Data Glossaries with business data stewards.
Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field. Or substitute an equivalent amount of experience.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as Data Architect.

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Knowledge or experience of data frameworks.
  • Experience with Migration to Cloud.
  • AWS advanced certification is preferred
  • Experience with Data discovery, tagging, indexing.
  • Able to compile and organize information and present findings to management.
  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use necessary databases and software.
  • Experience in disparate date environment such as with SharePoint resolutions.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with and interviewing business and technical team members.
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling tools such as ERWin or ER Studio.
