Under the direction of the CEO & President, the Office of the President works to guide PATH's strategic approach internally and at global and country levels. At present, PATH has set out to expand the scope of our respectful partnerships with national and local governments, with a view to enabling broader and deeper impact across the health sector. Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), including the World Bank, are collectively the most important funding partner enabling progress in the health sector at the national and local levels. In this context, PATH prioritized the strengthening of its work with MDBs, with a view to (1) identify and structure specific areas of alignment and complementarity, (2) define PATH's value proposition, and (3) expand the specific country-based engagements. This new position will work with the Associate Project Manager to support PATH's MDB strategy.

This is a temporary part-time position due to begin May 20, 2024 and end December 8, 2024 with a possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

The Partnerships Intelligence Analyst Temp will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research to deepen our understanding of the World Bank's operations and develop strategic insights to deepen our institutional engagement. The primary focus will be on gaining insights into the World Bank's mission, funding recipients, organizational structure, and key projects. The successful candidate will review publicly available project information, project appraisal reports, and procurement documents. Additionally, they will synthesize key themes by comparing the activities of PATH with priorities of the World Bank. The role will also identify strategic alignment opportunities and provide valuable insights into the World Bank's prospects. Dependent upon candidates experience and availability this work may entail:

Conduct Research

  • Investigate the World Bank's core functions
  • Explore the World Bank's funding mechanisms, eligibility criteria, and the types of projects/work it supports
  • Deepen our understanding of the World Bank work in Digital Health, local manufacturing (vaccines, medical and diagnostic devices), and Primary Health Care as priority areas for PATH)
  • Analyze publicly available project information, project appraisals, and procurement documents
  • Understand the organizational structure of the World Bank, including its various divisions, and departments
  • Explore the World Bank's future direction, challenges, and opportunities

Synthesize Key Themes

  • Compare the thematic areas addressed by PATH and the World Bank
  • Identify commonalities and differences in focus and geographical areas

Strategic Alignment

  • Evaluate potential synergies between PATH and the World Bank's priorities
  • Highlight areas where collaboration or knowledge sharing could enhance both organizations' impact

Country Specific Research

  • Conduct country specific intelligence research with a view to identifying areas of collaboration, where PATH can add value to MDBs

Innovation

  • Identify and propose innovative frameworks for collaboration between PATH and MDBs

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, economics, political science, international relations, business, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Desk research experience
  • Familiarity and/or interest with international development, global health, economics, or related fields
  • Ability to work independently
  • Calm, professional, proactive demeanor and excellent problem solver

The hourly range for this temporary role in the U.S. is $20.00- $24.00. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors. This is a non-benefitted position.
