JOB TITLE:

Project Coordinator, Senior

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the development and evaluation of community education and training programs with specific focus on inclusive health; and research the effectiveness of those programs at the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND). Specifically, this position will build capacity, knowledge and skills for Wyoming healthcare professionals including clinical and mental health providers related to improving health outcomes for people with disabilities in Wyoming.

Additionally, this position will provide technical support to Wyoming healthcare professionals and clinical providers, healthcare entities and organizations, technical and business partners, and statewide consortiums related to improving telehealth implementation and utilization.

This position is grant-funded and will directly work with activities associated with the Health and Disability program at the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities including the Wyoming Telehealth Network (WyTN), and the Public Access to Telehealth Sites (PATHS) project to improve community access points for telehealth delivery (i.e. public libraries, UW extension offices, etc.) across Wyoming. The UW Project ECHO in Health Networks to increase attendance and engagement of healthcare professional in the networks and learning opportunities, and lastly building clinical and mental health provider relations for health and disability promotion programs. This position will provide supervision and guidance of other WIND program staff as needed. This position will have oversight from the Program Manager of WIND's Health Emphasis Program.

This position is grant funded and considered at-will employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the writing of grants and contracts to support programs and initiatives at the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities, with a focus on inclusive health programs including Health and Disability and the Wyoming Telehealth Network.
  • Develop and deliver training and best-practice curricula including university pre-service, interdisciplinary education at the University of Wyoming in the areas of health and disability and telehealth delivery.
  • Plan, develop, build, and enhance long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, partners and potential partners. More specifically with Wyoming medical providers, nurses, behavioral health providers. Cultivate these partnerships through direct communication, facilitation of special interest groups, involvement in statewide working groups, etc. Stakeholders include but are not limited to healthcare professionals (i.e mental health professionals) and clinical providers (i.e. MD, DO, PA, DNP, etc.), health care facilities and organizational staff (i.e. billing personnel, receptionist, clinic coordinator, etc.), statewide medical associations (i.e. Wyoming Medical Society, etc.), and the Wyoming Telehealth Consortium and its members.
  • Serve as a regular point of contact for developing and maintaining relationships, troubleshooting, technical assistance and responding to telehealth barriers, utilization and implementation inquiries.
  • Assess and address current Wyoming telehealth utilization, identify strength and barriers to telehealth implementation, monitors progress, identifies risks, and develops solutions in partnership with key stakeholders, partners, potential partners and WIND.
  • To support principal investigators and program staff in carrying out the objectives of sponsored projects related to disability research, improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations, and similar projects.
  • Support research and evaluation, grant proposal and manuscript activities including literature reviews, data collection and database management, coordination of grant and institutional review board proposal submissions and maintenance. This will include the supervision of outreach and other program staff as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of survey's programmatic evaluations, and needs assessments related to community training, education and professional development needs for telehealth utilization and implementation throughout Wyoming.
  • Represent community training and education programs at grant functions, or other meetings and events, which may include reporting on projects, planning collaborations with other project professionals, and evaluating projects.
  • Develop recruiting and funding strategies; plan and write grant proposals; write reports on status of funded projects.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of social sciences, social services, public administration, or health care administration

Experience: 3 years work-related experience, including program development, training, and grant writing and evidence of successful program development and implementation

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the .
  • Some positions require licensure and/or certification as a counselor, addictions therapist, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker as stated in the specific position advertisement.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5 years work-related experience, including program development, training, and grant writing and evidence of successful program development and implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Significant experience with state and national or international program development and training
  • Extensive experience developing or supporting the development of community-based program areas of education, health, early intervention, assistive technology
  • Experience in developing training related to disability and individuals with disabilities, families, communities and organizations
  • Evidence of teamwork and rapport building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and/or implementing program evaluation, applied research, data collection, and database management.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical methods and terminology
  • Familiarity with literature reviews and needs assessments
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and usage, hospital terms, abbreviations, and abstraction techniques of working with medical terminology.
