Responsibilities:

SAF/AAO is tasked to review and advise on the space allocation for the Department of Air Force within the Washington Headquarters Service (WHS)-managed space (Pentagon).

  • Assist with developing tools/software/and vehicles to select and acquire office furnishings to comply with new office space standards and adapt to a hybrid working environment.
  • Evaluate and revise the DAF existing furniture and office standards.
  • Provide analysis and technical review of SAF/AA's existing standards and provide proposed amendments and recommendations.
  • Develop a standard office layout to include modifications and additions to the current modular furniture configurations, incorporating new standards that produce flexible options for SAF/AA to provide to DAF entities in the NCR.
  • Discuss and review opportunities to integrate the existing standard modular furniture components into the revised standards options and checking if there is capability to avoid procuring duplicate requirements.
  • Use Sortly asset management database to track excess furnishings and materials for supporting systems furnishings.
  • Investigate and determine requirements, conduct market research, and estimate cost for furniture, interior alterations, and interior design projects.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to customers on furniture, and space planning/design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years' experience relating to interior design and/or space planning.
  • Familiarity with furniture and its capability and standards/policy. AutoCAD and Revit experience.
  • DoD Secret clearance is required.
