The Role:

As we continue to grow, QuidelOrtho is seeking a Government Contract Manager for the Offer Development group who will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of contracts for Government accounts in a way that ensures customer satisfaction, compliance to Company policy and profitability. This position will work with the Government Team and will be located in Raritan, NJ, Rochester, NY, or San Diego CA.

The Responsibilities:
  • Provide quotes and develop agreements for Government Accounts based on direction provided by the US Sales Organization, revising as needed throughout the negotiation process. Amend and restructure existing group customer agreements when required. Track the status of new offers to measure win rates and cycle times.

  • Cultivate a strategic partnership with the Sales Organization, providing guidance on contracting options and identifying creative approaches to meeting Customer needs. Act as a resource for available acquisition methods and effective programs/promotions. Define expectations and align on reasonable turnaround times for deliverables. Respond to ad-hoc queries as needed.

  • Ensure that all contracts are structured in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Prepare and present any exception requests, including price concessions, to a committee of cross-functional internal stakeholders for review. When necessary, include the financials of the deal using manually generated Gross Profit Models. Explore alternatives to exceptions. Document all exceptions and approvals.

  • Review Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and other laws, regulations, rules, and guidelines referenced in contracts to determine if Ortho can comply, while engaging with other subject matter experts when necessary.

  • As needed, complete additional tasks, including but not limited to: supporting all internal and external audits, training new Contract Managers and Sales Associates and participating in special projects.

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of contracting systems and how they interface with other systems throughout the company where related to contract management and reporting.

  • Strong skills in attention to detail, resourcefulness, and follow- through in the development of offers through addressing customer issues in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required in this position. Individuals must demonstrate the ability to communicate via telephone, e-mail, and phone mail to internal and external customers on a daily basis ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of management, including senior management.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree or 3 years of Government contracting or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3 years business experience.

  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated leadership to define and to accomplish common goals, strong project management and high attention to detail to meet timelines and milestones.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Domestic travel is required approximately 2-4 times per year.

Preferred:

  • 3 years in contracting preferred

  • Government Contracting experience preferred

  • Experience in a tightly regulated industry preferred

  • PRO Software experience preferred

Internal: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Sales Operations

The Work Environment:

This professional will operate in a typical office environment. Must possess the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $116,000 and is eligible for the Global Bonus Plan. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
