Requirements

The Information System Coordinator has the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of the division's computer systems as well as developing and designing supporting tools for transplant clinical decision support, research and education and conducting analyses on the data captured.This responsibility includes the collection, organization, analysis and reporting of data which will further the mission of The Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center.Data analysis and computer/database management are the primary functions of this position. This employee must provide analysis of the data to the appropriate staff and present the data to the appropriate committee(s).The employee will maintain competencies in the majority of the IS Specialist specialty areas.Data integrity assurance and responsibility for compliance and accurate reporting to UNOS, SEOPF, MARC, CTRD, ISHLT, Medicare and the State of Maryland, etc.is expected .This position acts as computer liaison to network administrators and provides training to staff in the proper use of software applications. This position will also have responsibility of providing research support as well as take on special projects directed by the Transplant/ Decision Support Manager. The employee will provide oversight to data and information support positions.The employee will be expected to demonstrate continued growth in these areas and function. This position will also support the policy and procedure development for the division, the PI/UM goals and managed care/ financial obligations.

Qualifications

Two years of college in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare Management or related field or comparable experience.

2 to 3 years of experience in database management procedures as normally acquired with general office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in summarizing, analyzing, manipulating, and reporting clinical data.

Detail-oriented, work independently, prioritizing tasks, some medical experience (medical terminology)
