Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Colorado Springs, Colorado is seeking a Training Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team. If you are hired into this role, you will develop training course content for both internal and external audiences, focused around manufacturing certifications. These training materials will include resources for face-to-face trainings, online and web-based learning content, and certification exams. The new Training Instructional Designer will also act as the backup trainer for the designated in-person program skills trainer.

What You'll Do:

  • Work independently and as part of a team designing, developing, and delivering technical training materials and resources in support of digital transformation projects.

  • Design and develop engaging and interactive training content, including e-learning modules, presentations, manuals, and multimedia resources.

  • Utilize authoring tools and software to create and customize training materials that align with instructional strategies and adult learning principles.

  • Integrate multimedia elements, such as graphics, animations, videos, and simulations, to enhance the effectiveness of training content.

  • Create evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness.

  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on developed content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards. Make improvements as necessary

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts onsite to determine training development needs. Gather feedback from participants to identify areas for improvement and makes necessary revisions.

  • Manage instructional design requests from beginning to end using the ADDIE model.

  • Apply instructional design principles and best practices to achieve optimal learning outcomes

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovations in instructional design and content development.

  • 80% of your time will be spent in instructional design, with the other 20% being spent as a trainer and fulfilling other duties.

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Curriculum Development, Communications or Education

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Strong organizational skils, and the ability to manage muiltiple projects with multiple cross-functional groups at once

  • Ability to build relationships and lead and motivate a project team that is comprised of internal and external subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

  • Experience in learning design and content development, with demonstrable experience in writing effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts that support learning objectives.

  • Experience delivering training to a range of learner audiences, and adapt training design and delivery to meet the needs of a diverse range of learning styles

  • Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and scenario design

  • Experience designing and developing e-learning solutions and software tools, such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, Captivate, and/or Camtasia

  • Working knowledge in MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentational)

Oustanding Candidates Will Have:

  • Certification in Instructional Systems Design (ISD)

  • Certified Technical Trainer Certification

  • ATD Instructional Design certification
