Pantheon Data was founded in 2011, initially providing acquisition and supply chain management services to the US Coast Guard. Position Overview

Pantheon Data has a need for a Windows System Administrator - AWS Cloud Migration to support a large cloud migration effort for a federal client. We are seeking a candidate who is not only skilled in traditional Windows server management but is also adept in administering Microsoft IIS Webservers and deploying .NET and C# applications into the AWS cloud. This role is pivotal for professionals who are keen to expand their expertise from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based environments, especially within the AWS ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows server environments, ensuring high standards of performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage Microsoft IIS Webservers including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the migration of Windows-based applications, particularly those developed in .NET and C#, to the AWS cloud.
  • Configure and implement Azure Active Directory and Single Sign-On solutions.
  • Handle DNS and routing configurations effectively in both on-premises and AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to develop comprehensive cloud migration strategies.
  • Ensure AWS cloud implementations of Windows servers are optimized for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Oversee cloud-based backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Maintain adherence to strict security protocols in both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
  • Provide technical support for a range of Windows server and network configurations and cloud-based applications.
  • Identify potential challenges and compatibility issues related to cloud migration.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive migration strategies and plans for each application.
  • Conduct unit and performance testing to ensure migrated applications function as intended within the AWS cloud.
  • Prioritize security and compliance measures throughout the migration process.
  • Communicate technical progress and challenges clearly to stakeholders.
  • Document processes and best practices for reference during future cloud migrations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows Systems Administration, with a strong focus on managing Windows server environments and Microsoft IIS Webservers.
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and deploying .NET and C# applications into the AWS cloud.
  • Proficiency in Windows Active Directory, Single Sign-On solutions, DNS, and routing.
  • Experience with AWS services relevant to Windows environments and application deployment (such as EC2, RDS, and S3).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL databases and their migration to cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of cloud migration tools and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective team collaboration capabilities, and excellent communication.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting federal government clients.
  • Strong understanding of federal compliance and security protocols.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
