Job Description | The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage access, participation, and support for students with disabilities; and programs and services related to wellness, health education, and well-being for campus and community resources. This is accomplished by developing and administering procedures to ensure compliance with ADA federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities; guaranteeing complaints of students with disabilities are handled promptly and equitably, and consulting with administrators and faculty regarding information pertaining to academic accommodations and intervention strategies; ensuring compliance with legal responsibilities and instructional, programmatic, physical and curriculum modifications; creating and managing program budgets; supervising and evaluating program staff. Other duties include supervision of the Coordinator of Student Wellness, Student Development Specialists, Accessibility Specialist, and part-time Administrative Assistant, and serving as a member of the Care Team. This position will also manage the partnerships with external social services agencies including on-site counseling services to ensure student assistance is met as outlined in the Memoranda of Agreements. This is an exempt, administrator position. HCC administrators receive an annual contract aligning with our 12-month fiscal year, July 1 - June 30. The first contract issued is prorated based on hire date, covering the remainder of the current fiscal year. It is necessary for an administrator to execute a new contract for each fiscal year that employment is offered. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
