Position: Director, Sustainability & Packaging

Reports To: Vice President, Sustainability

Location: Washington, DC/Hybrid

Come join the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), an organization representing the nation’s nearly one million workers in the plastics industry.  They are seeking a Director of Sustainability & Packaging to manage a key program that serves to protect and promote the plastics industry.

As the Director of Sustainability & Packaging, you will serve as the key individual and program manager for the Flexible Film Recycling Alliance (FFRA).  FFRA is dedicated to promoting and improving the sustainability of flexible plastic products and packaging.  You will hold overarching responsibility for managing the program, working cross-functionally with the PLASTICS team.  This position reports to the Vice President of Sustainability.

 

Qualified candidates offer:

  • BA in sustainability, policy, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in sustainability, the plastics industry, advocacy, communications, or coalition management
  • Experience with sustainability issues; managing packaging-related plastics production and recycling is preferred
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience in sales, fundraising, or member recruitment
  • Experience cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders
