Job Description

Sayres Defense is seeking an experienced Junior-Level Marine Engineer with a current SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering/technical support for concept studies; feasibility studies; preliminary design activities; contract design activities; detail design and construction activities; independent design reviews; In-service ship design and engineering activities; shipboard installation support; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.
  • Provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and in-depth engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets, including Combat Logistics Force (CLF), Special Mission Ships, and FMS assets.

Preferred Specialization:

Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Foreign Military Sales; Military Sealift Command procedures and processes; Ship Operations and/or shipboard testing

Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates

  • Bachelor's of Science in Marine Engineering or Transportation
  • Entry level in program/project management/engineering
  • 2 plus years supporting Shipbuilding
  • Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS
  • Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Ship Operations and/or shipboard testing

Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates

  • 3rd Assistant Engineer Steam or Diesel or 3rd Mates Marine Navigation License Unlimited Tonnage USCG Active or Inactive.
