Technical Editor
Kirkland, WA / Remote

Bluehawk Consulting is searching for an experienced Technical Editor to join our client in Kirkland, WA for a six-month contract opportunity.
Project Overview
As a contract Technical Editor, you'll support technical documentation development efforts. The technical editor will primarily integrate test document errata and apply editorial style standards as necessary. The technical editor will review and edit test documents that validate the next generation of wireless technology specifications. The technical editor will also collaborate with the Specification Validation team and working group or committee members as required. The hours for this role will be 20-40 hours per week, expect actual hours will vary week to week.
Responsibilities
  • Integrate test document errata.
  • Edit content drafted by SME contributors in support of new wireless technology features.
  • Ensure conformance to applicable style guides and templates.
  • Work on editorial projects.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years' experience editing technical content for a technical audience.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with subject matter experts.
  • Experience producing content in Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira.
Education
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, or equivalent experience.
