The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for providing comprehensive and age appropriate care to both well and/or ill patients. The Nurse Practitioner educates patients and/or intervenes in acute or chronic illness. The Nurse Practitioner practices within their scope as defined by their education, NP specialty certification and the guidelines of the unit, department and institution. The Nurse Practitioner is granted affiliate staff privileges by the Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Board; these privileges reviewed during re-credentialing. Nurse Practitioner (ICU) works within a designated ICU unit.
Professional Licensures/Certifications
* Current Registered nurse and NP licensure in the state of Maryland.
* Current certification in area of specialty as a Nurse Practitioner by the State of Maryland the appropriate accrediting national body
* Specialty certification must match population served
Preferred Education Requirement
* Master's degree and/or DNP from an accredited school of nursing
* Completion of accredited NP program in area of specialty (Pediatrics, Family, Geriatrics, etc.) as required by the position
