The Senior Specialist, Procurement will report directly to the Manager, Materials Management at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. The job holder will be responsible for supplier selection, management, and performance. They will serve as the liaison between suppliers and cross functional teams.

The Senior Specialist, Procurement will report directly to the Manager, Materials Management at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. The job holder will be responsible for supplier selection, management, and performance. They will serve as the liaison between suppliers and cross functional teams.

Reports To: Manager, Materials Management

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (hybrid)

Responsibilities:

    Manage suppliers and supplier performance
  • Identify suppliers of goods and services
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers, cross functional teams and project managers regarding updates and details of goods
  • Create purchase orders, track, and monitor supply requests and order fulfillment
  • Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered
  • Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
  • Attend meetings with the legal department to ensure any contractual obligations are favorable to the company
  • Work closely with the projects team/New production introduction teams to understand details of procurement requirements
  • Developing cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
  • Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
  • Develop and maintain metrics for Procurement
  • Develop and maintain Procurement related procedure and forms.
  • Assist in the revision of Supply Chain SOP's and other controlled documents
  • Support projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master's degree preferably in business, Supply chain, biotechnology with 5+ years of experience in supply chain or purchasing or directly related experience, within the biotech/biopharma industry (preferred); or
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in business, Supply chain, biotechnology with 7+ years of experience in supply chain or purchasing or directly related experience within the biotech/biopharma industry (preferred); or
  • Associate degree with 8+ years of experience in supply chain or purchasing or directly related experience within the biotech/biopharma industry (preferred); or
  • High school diploma with 9+ years of experience in supply chain or purchasing or directly related experience within the biotech/biopharma industry (preferred)
  • Robust experience within the biotechnology and pharma industry a strong plus
  • Preferably have APICS Supply Chain/Purchasing certifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP tools (preferably in SAP), and business processes.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
