Financial Systems Analyst
This position is Contingent Upon Contract Funding
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Financial Systems Analyst to support our customer in San Diego, CA.
Job Description:
  • Financial Analysts provide financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department. They may also perform the following duties:
    • Providing advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
    • Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
    • Analysts examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
    • May employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
    • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization's spending.
    • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
    • May conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
    • Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
    • Manage finances across multiple funding types.
    • Track budgets, costs, and variances.
    • Produce executive summaries.
    • Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements.
    • Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues.
    • Interpret and apply financial management principles.
    • Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.
Qualifications:
  • Must have BA in Finance or related field or equivalent years of relevant experience (at least 7 years of experience).
  • Must be able to apply fundamental financial principles, practices and procedures in order to complete assignments.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform in critical deadline situations.
  • Must have the ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify problems.
Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional Travel- around 20%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $180,000 per year
