The successful candidate will join a team of lawyers providing legal and strategic advice to the university and will gain first-hand experience working on the wide variety of legal and policy issues that confront a large urban teaching and research institution. These include business and real estate matters, employment and labor law, health law, intellectual property and technology transfer matters, litigation, regulatory compliance, student and academic matters, and contract drafting and review.

Juris Doctorate degree. Bar membership is not required at the start of the fellowship, but the successful candidate must have taken the bar examination prior to September 2014.
|Desired Qualifications:|| |
Excellent research and writing ability is desired. A ranking in the top third of the class and journal membership is preferred.

Position is open for a 2013 or 2014 graduate of The George Washington University Law School. The successful candidate must graduate no later than May 2014. This position is for two years, beginning September 2014, subject to its at-will employment status.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Drafts and reviews University agreements/contracts, including contracts for the provision of procurement of goods and services, leases, research and employment agreements under the supervision of more senior attorneys.
Provides legal research, and assistance on non-litigation issues relating to students, faculty and staff.
Provides legal advice and assistance to the GW community on commercial and real estate matters, employment and labor law, health law, intellectual property and technology transfer matters, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
