The Administrative Office (AO), an agency of the Judicial Branch of the Federal government, is committed to serving and supporting the Federal court system of the United States. The Office of Internal Services seeks a self-motivated, professional junior-level analyst for the AO Budget and Analysis Staff under the direction of the AO Budget Officer. The analyst will perform under supervision a variety of budget functions in support of the AO, particularly in the areas of staffing analysis, position management, budget policy and training, and budget support for one or more directorates of the AO, and will assist in the formulation and execution of the AO budget. The AO Budget and Analysis Staff prepares the AO's annual budget request to Congress, develops the financial plan to execute the AO's budget, monitors spending, and produces financial projections, special analyses, and reports on AO budget issues which improve fiscal responsibility, accountability, and efficiency. Applicants should be knowledgeable about the Federal budget process and possess strong writing, editing, and analytical skills. Applicants should also have excellent customer service skills.
At the entry level, the incumbent performs as an entry-level analyst working under direct supervision to perform the work assignments. As competency increases, the incumbent will work under less direct supervision performing the more complex work assignments.
At the full-performance level, duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparing staffing reports and generating automated reports for payroll and personnel data;
2. Analyzing personnel requests and preparing cost impact statements and written analyses;
3. Preparing budget policy guidance and developing and conducting training;
4. Providing technical advice and assistance to AO divisions on AO budget and policy issues;
5. Participating in the formulation of the AO budget request, the development of the AO financial plan, and monitoring expenditures; and
6. Preparing reports, analyses, and studies on AO budget issues and participating in cost-containment efforts.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Experience: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate one year of experience directly related to the formulation, execution, and evaluation of complex budget programs.
Education: If you are using your education to qualify for all or part of the experience requirement, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of courses (which includes equivalent information from the transcript, e.g., court title, semester/quarter hours, and grade), from an accredited college or university. This information must show superior academic achievement. Superior academic achievement is defined as a 3.5 GPA in your major or an overall GPA of 2.9.
