Position Description

Weapons System Integration Analyst (F/A-18) - Requisition ID 035130

Description
  • Coordinate and perform integration activities as assigned and required by the Weapon System Integration (WSI) Team Lead for the F/A-18A+, C/D, E/F and G model aircraft and FMS variants.
  • Responsibilities include test asset positioning, conducting of laboratory, ground, and flight integration events, and verifying that the weapon system meets performance requirements.
  • Review and validate correct 1553/1760 interface communication and functionality of both the aircraft and weapons under test.
  • Investigate problems/anomalies, provide engineering evaluations, and evaluations of System Trouble Reports and System Anomaly Reports (SAR/STR) as required.
  • Perform and participate in certification testing of aircraft and weapon interface, and provide inputs to the F-18 IPT to determine suitability for weapon certification.
  • Keep WSI Lead apprised of work related development/tasking via status meetings and informal communication.
  • Ensure that system level documentation is developed. This includes requirements documents (FRD), development specifications/documents, interconnection documents and studies as required by the task team lead.
  • Obtain and maintain adequate qualifications to perform on aircraft work (Ejection seat qualification, Support Equipment license, airfield driver's license).
  • Perform as part of the weapon team and Block SOR team.
  • Attend and participate in working group (ICWG, JICWG, etc.) and informal meetings.
  • Ensure that required documentation (detailed procedures, etc.) is developed for all tests and is in accordance with AWL standards, procedures and schedules.
  • Perform integration activities in accordance with developed procedures.
  • Attend required meetings (SOR Team, SDR, PDR, CDR, etc.) as required.
  • Independently interface with all levels of the F/A-18 IPT as well as external organizations (e.g Weapon Program Office, Aircraft and Weapon PMAs, NAVAIR, Boeing, Raytheon, etc.) on matters related to weapons systems integration, project planning, scheduling, document preparation, engineering document assessment and integration planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in an Engineering field.
Applicants selected for this position will require an active DoD Secret clearance. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
