JOB SUMMARY:
You will plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies and programs to maximize overall revenues from product and service sales. You will be expected to provide guidance and ideas to the client on all facets of marketing, works with creative team and client to achieve these goals. You will writes impactful copy for marketing materials and effectively positions the product or program. You will manage day-to-day communications and requests for marketing support. You must have excellent project management and organization skills, including defining and mapping out appropriate project plans, in order to attain project goals and track success. You must be able to set deadlines and work efficiently managing multiple tasks, assess strategic opportunities, determine project/service quality, make administrative and procedural decisions to drive growth in ICMA’s brands. You will provide pricing guidance.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops overall marketing and promotion plans for ICMA Publications and US Programs. Supports program and product development by providing market insights. Works with business unit managers and director of survey research to determine appropriate market research and ensure it is implemented.

Creates alliances with similar organizations for distribution and promotion purposes.

Develops and implements promotion plans that utilize a variety of traditional and online/e-mail marketing vehicles and strategies, and are adjusted according to sales results and trends that the incumbent monitors.

Continually updates the marketing promotions schedule, projects sales revenue in consultation with business unit managers, and manages budgets for marketing promotions.

Proactively seeks opportunities to promote ICMA products, services, and events, including cross promotion.

Researches, identifies, and tests new techniques and target audiences to promote ICMA products and services. Directs the collection and analysis of promotion results and evaluates the effectiveness of each marketing activity. On an ongoing basis, recommends changes to marketing strategies to increase sales or improve cost-effectiveness of marketing.

Serves as project manager for direct mail promotions, display and online ads, blast e-mails, and other marketing projects.

Writes effective, persuasive marketing copy for e-mail, online, and traditional printed formats that is targeted to different audiences’ needs and interests.
Experience/Training
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field preferred, and minimum of 3 years required

Minimum two years experience in a project management role.

Prior experience working with graphic designers and ability to conceptualize projects.

Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills necessary.

Takes direction well, good time management skills and works with minimal supervision.
Technical skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office 2007
