To those ends, the Partnership engages in the following activities:With the ambitious goal of revitalizing the civil service, the Partnership for Public Service is moving forward on multiple fronts, including: Raising awareness and helps improve public attitudes about government service. Promoting government service through outreach to college campuses and jobseekers. Providing hands-on assistance to federal agencies to improve their operations. The Partnership¡¦s Private Sector Council (PSC) connects experts from Fortune 500 corporations with federal leaders to confront government's key management challenges on an operational level. Advocating for needed legislative and regulatory reforms to strengthen the civil service. Generating thought-provoking research on, and effective responses to, the workforce challenges facing the federal government. Partnership for Public Service Benefits Health Care The Partnership provides medical, dental, and vision coverage to its employees. The Partnerships pays 100% of your individual health care premium, and 75% of the additional premium the Partnership is charged for child, spouse, or family coverage. Health care coverage begins from date of hire. Retirement Plan The Partnership offers a 401(k) retirement plan which is 100% vested from date of hire. There is no minimum waiting period before you may participate in the plan. The Partnership will match your contributions up to 4% of each paycheck. The Partnership can only match monies paid into the plan through salary deductions. You may elect an alternate contribution percentage for annual performance bonus payments. Professional Development The Partnership offers up to $2,500 per year per employee to allow you to take advantage of training and development opportunities with the approval of a supervisor. Annual Leave Each employee is eligible to accrue 15 days of annual leave per year, based on a 40-hour work week, at the rate of 4.62 hours per bi-weekly pay period. After two years with the Partnership, employees accrue leave at the rate of 5.23 hours per bi-weekly pay period (17 days per year). Personal Religious Days Each employee is entitled to two personal religious days each year for religious observances that are not already provided in holiday leave. Personal religious days are accrued January 1 of year or on your date of hire and must be used on the actual date, not for travel days before or after the observance. Sick Leave Paid sick leave will accrue at the rate of 3.07 hours per bi-weekly pay period. It may be carried over year to year, but accrual is limited to 10 days (80 hours). Administrative Leave Administrative paid leave is provided, in addition to annual leave, personal religious days or sick leave for such things as medical appointments, family emergencies or meeting repair or delivery persons at home. Administrative leave requests of over four hours require approval by your supervisor. Paid Holidays The Partnership recognizes 11 paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving. Employees may be asked to work part or all of a holiday depending on the workload; however, employees who are asked to work during holidays will be reimbursed with an equal amount of annual leave. Life and Disability Insurance The Partnership covers its employees with a life insurance policy that will pay an amount equal to an employee’s annual salary, up to $110,000, to designated beneficiaries. The Partnership also provides long and short-term disability insurance for employees. Metrochek Program The Metrocheck Program allows you to purchase vouchers for public transportation with pre-tax dollars. Metrochek vouchers accepted by Metro, MARC, VRE and local bus systems, as well as more than 100 bus, rail and vanpool commuter services in the region. The federally mandated maximum monthly withholding for this pre-tax deduction is $100 per month. |
