Company OverviewService Credit Union was founded in 1957 to provide financial services for U.S. Armed Forces personnel. The credit union was originally chartered to serve the military and civilian employees at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire.The expansion of Service Credit Union’s New England operations began in the early 1990s. A change in credit union regulations and a charter conversion allowed SCU to provide financial services to anyone living or working in New Hampshire. The credit union also provides services to anyone working or living in the Massachusetts towns of Sandwich, Mashpee, Bourne or Falmouth. Today, Service Credit Union has eight branches in New Hampshire and one branch in Massachusetts. In 1968, Service Credit Union began its overseas operations in Ramstein, West Germany. Since then, SCU has become one of the leading providers of financial products and services for department of defense and military personnel in central Europe. Today, Service Credit Union maintains 14 branches on military installations in Germany. Service Credit Union continues to enhance its products and services. Today, SCU provides financial services to nearly 100,000 members residing all across the U.S. and around the world. |
