Job Summary The Senior Designer, Electrical participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: power, lighting, controls, grounding, and the like.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Assists in developing electrical documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer and project manager
- Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions
- Assists project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for equipment and electrical distribution systems
- Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, and as-built drawings
- Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)
- Assists in developing projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications and contractual requirements
- Assists in the production of construction documents under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Mentor interns and junior members of project teams
- Assists in development of construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules and diagrams for electrical and lighting systems
- Assists in performing quality control reviews of work developed by others
- Assists in performing calculations: power (load, fault, voltage drop, etc.), lighting, feeder sizing, electrical equipment sizing and the like
- Assists in performing technical tasks using applicable standards, procedures and codes
- Assist in providing technical expertise for studies and design efforts
- Other duties as assigned

Show your expertise
- 6+ years of experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree with technical focus preferred
- Proficient in the use Autodesk Building Systems Software
- Individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships
- Energetic and self-motivated
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products
